MURDER BY KNIFE?

I was a sunny summer morning. Gosia phoned me, she was very scared. She was trying to say that her neighbour was dead. As fast as I could I sit on my bike and went to her. When I arrived I saw man lying on the path. In his chest was a knife. I screamed.

The victim was dark, long – haired, middle aged man called Stefan Kowalski. Gosia had told me about him. He was very strange. Stef lived alone in a big house. He did never go out.
When I was sitting with Gosia the police came. Detective took my friend to his car and gave her lot of questions. She could be one of suspects.

Józek Z. was the second suspect. He lived near Gosia with wife and three children. Unfortunately, Zosia, the Józek’s wife, wasn’t at home. She was studding in Warsaw. Man was alone. Children weren’t at home too. They were on holidays. He said that he didn’t know Stefan well but he didn’t like his neighbour. Mr. Z. used only one reason why he didn’t like Stef it was that Kowalski always was at home, that he never went out.

The next suspects were Mr. And Mrs. Nowak. They lived in a flat next to Stefan’s house. They said that Stef seemed to be nice. One day they talk to him. He want to borrow a screw with red strips. Kowalski gave it back after 2 hours. Neo Nowak said that he sometimes had talked to his neighbour and he liked him.

In Stefan’s house we found the screw in hole in flour. It had someone’s blood. The death certificate showed that was Stefan’s and one of the neighbour blood. Stefan wasn’t killed by knife which was in his chest in the morning. The murder had been done by screw.
