The Lord of The Rings

”The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”, directed by Peter Jackson, is a screening of first part of Tolkien’s fantasy trilogy “The Lord of the Rings”, where the main characters are Hobbits, dwarfs, elves, gnomes and other unrealistic creatures . The film tells the story of fight between powers of right and wrong.

One day Frodo (Elijah Wood), the hobbit, receives a magic ring which is sought by the lord of the darkness- Sauron. To defeat Sauron, Frodo must ruin the ring. It is not as easy as it could seem, because the ring can be destroyed only at the place of it’s rise- the land of Mordor, the kingdom of Sauron.

Frodo and his friend Sam start on a dangerous jurney to the Land of Shadows. They form a Fellowship of the Ring which consists of exponents of all right races occupying the planet: Legolas- the elf acted by Orlando Bloom, Gimli the dwarf, Boromir and Aragorn- humans, Pippin and Meriadok- hobbits. At the head of the fellowship stands the most expirienced, wizard Gandalf(Ian McKellen). During the jurney they are followed by Sauron’s army of monsters which are ready to do anything to get the magic ring. If they manage to acquire it, Sauron will possess sufficiently huge power for destroying the powers of right. Finally, in the end of first part, Frodo manages to get to Mordor, but we don’t know if he destroyes the ring or not. This mystery will be cleared up in the next part.

Film got thirteen nominations to world’s most prestigious awards, the Oscars. It has not only a phenomenal plot, but also the actors act very well. Music is terrific and the scenerys are marvelous, especially this from the land of elves. This film will rouse your imagination and make you feel like living in a magic world of fantastic creatures, fairies, gnomes and dwarfs. All this things make “The Lord of the Rings” worth watching not only by children and Tolkien’s fans but also by adults.
