Character from a book - speech

“Here is Edward Bear, coming downstairs now, bump, bump, bump, on the back of his head, behind Christopher Robin. It is, as far as he knows, the only way of coming downstairs, but sometimes he feels that there really is another way, if only he could stop bumping for a moment and think of it. And then he feels that perhaps there isn’t. Anyhow, here he is at the bottom, and ready to be introduced to you. Winnie-the-Pooh.”
It was the first paragraph from the book, written by A. A. Milne, about my favourite character – Winnie-the-Pooh. He is a little teddy, owned by Christopher Robin. Winnie is known from the fact that he has “very little brain”. However, I can’t agree with it. I think that sometimes he turns out (okazać się) to be cleverer than anybody else is. When there was an expedition (“expotition” – as teddy called it), little Roo started to… drown (tonąć) in… a pool! (kałuża) Winnie immediately passed him a long pole (pal, biegun) and saved him. (Finally, it turned out to be “North Pole”)
As all the bears, Winnie-the-Pooh loves honey. He could do anything to get it. For example, he was trying to look like “a small black cloud in a blue sky”. To achieve it, he took big blue balloon and rolled himself in a mud. But – as Christopher told – he looked “like a Bear holding on to a balloon”. That’s why bees saw him and attacked him. He must have been shot by Robin, well, he was expecting from Christopher that he would shoot the balloon, but he missed… after second trial (próba), Winnie-the-Pooh fell down. Without honey.

Winnie-the-Pooh is a very friendly bear. He has few pals, who he has many adventures with. He is always ready to help them. He also remembers about their birthdays (I think, that he has great ideas for the gifts for them!).

Sometimes, because of his little brain – I think, he turns meanings or the ways of writing of some words. For example famous “hunny”, which means “honey” of course.

One more thing characteristic to little teddy is that he sings very often. Most of the times he thinks of his own songs and most of the times they are very funny. They are telling about him, or about the weather. Sometimes they don’t have any sense. Nevertheless, we should remember that they are invited by A Bear of Very Little Brain.

I don’t know, if there is anybody in the World who wouldn’t know and like Winnie-the-Pooh. I think that he is sweet and I love him very much.
