Geography
Poland is situated in east central Europe. To the north the Baltic Sea bounds with Poland. The three major ports Gdynia, Gdańsk, Szczecin are her gates to the world.
To the south, Poland is bounded by the Carpathian Mountains with the High Tatra. The Vistula, the largest of the Polish rivers flows across the middle of the country.

Capital
The capital Warsaw is built in the banks of Vistula river.
The capital and other historical cities as Cracow, Sandomierz, Kazimierz, Plock, Torun and Gdansk. They are all famous for their splendid architecture that is dated from the 12th and 13th century.

Climate
Poland is a country of a temperate climate. The spring is green, the first buds and leaves, usually appear at the beginning of April. The leaves turn yellow, golden, and red and then fall in October and November. Winters are not particularly frosty. Summers have been increasingly dry and sometimes they are very hot.

Traditional food
You can find some traditional restaurants in cities in Poland, where you can taste for example potatoes or dumplings with cabbage and deliucious poppy-seed cake or cheesecake.

People
Polish people are friendly. They speak Polish. Young people like going to the discoes and cinemas, but adult people like going to the theatres and cinemas too. They also like riding a bike, playing football and swimming.
