There comes a time when we need to make up a big decision about our life and our... house. It is especially concerns students, because they have only three possibilities: to live with their parents, to buy a house or to share a flat with somebody else. The last decision is most dangerous because living with other members of the society may cause injuries...
To begin, I would like to write about the advantages of sharing a flat. First of all, paying the rent at the end of every month. It is very crucial when you do not have to pay the whole bill by your own. You can divide the amount into parts so your pocket will not lose weight! Also another advantage is simply that you do not feel alone at your home, and you can always talk to your flatmate, he can help you if you have any problems. Secondly, the house duties. The owner of the house makes a rota, which is a list where all the house duties which need to be done at home are put down e.g. cleaning, washing the dishes etc. That is why you are not the only one who takes care of the house.
On the other hand, the landlord tends to have many problems with its tenants. The tenant does not have to behave well either. He may steal some things from your room or he may turn out to be a robber and one day you might catch him in a huge truck next to your house while taking away your DVD and hi-fi set. Your flatmate may also be a psychopath or a murderer. Finally the worst aspect of living with somebody: you are not free in your own house. You have house duties, responsibilities and you can not clean up your house whenever you wish because your companion may feel uncomfortable and say “you should be neater everyday” and you can really get angry.
Making up a decision whether to live alone or with somebody is hard. Certainly living together with strangers is a risk but it also is a great experience to meet new people. You may even find a good friend! It is cheaper when you share a flat and the duties. Why not take a chance and choose the more exciting way?!
