When I came here, to the United States, I dreamt of becoming a doctor, a dentist to be more precise. I went to High School and took AP Chemistry with a great professor. He showed me this great world of chemistry I never understood in Poland. I decided to follow my teacher’s lead and choose chemistry as my major in college.
This was a very good decision. Taking AP Chemistry opened my eyes to this wonderful field that is waiting to be explored. This event is absolutely positive, because I realized that my previous ambition wasn’t well chosen for me. If I didn’t take that class, I would have got into something, medicine actually, that is not my true passion. Furthermore I can’t stand the sight of blood, so doctors are crossed out of my job list completely.
After graduating from Suffolk County Community College I would like to continue my education in another college, Stony Brook University possibly, where I would study pharmacy. Pharmacy is now a very good major, because there is a great need of medicines in our modern world. Moreover it is health related, like dentistry.
If I had to make my decision again, I would do exactly the same. I don’t regret a thing about it. Taking AP Chemistry made a huge impact on me, and I am really pleased with the results of my experience with the study called chemistry.
