Nowadays more and more families decide to educate their children at home instead of letting them go to the school. What are the advantages and disadvantages of that solution?

The main benefit of learning at home is that taking private lessons is usually more effective. Teacher can devote to child more attention then. Moreover that way of learning usually takes less time so child can also attend to for example a music school and improve his or hers skills.

On the other hand, educating at home separates children from other pupils so it’s hard for them to make any new friends and they usually have no social life which is such an important part of the student life. Furthermore, when it comes to adult life, children don’t know how it works because during all they life their have been protected by their parents so they can’t find a way to cope with life problems. Finally, after that way of education children go to the university and they can’t handle it because they don’t know how to work in groups.

In conclusion, it seems that learning at home have some advantages but it’s nothing compared to the disadvantages. In my opinion, children shouldn’t stay at home during their childhood because it’s time to socialise and meet new people.
