In Poland kindergarten last 3 years. The last year is compulsory for all children.
Next, at the age of 6 children go to the primary school.
Primary school last 6 years and is composed of two stages in three years.
First 3 years are for children from 7-10 years old and they’re call integrate teaching.
Then next 3 years are for children from 10-13 and at this stage kids learn 10 compulsory subjects and religion if they want.
At the end of primary school everyone must write the exam.
It doesn’t matter if they pass this exam or not – they can leave school and at the age of 13 they begin new school – grammar school.
This school last 3 years. There are 14 obligatory subjects plus Religion that isn’t obligatory.
In third class all students must write the exam – this exam is important, because on this exam depend which school they’ll choose.
After grammar-school you can go to:
- general secondary school – last 3 years and after this school you can pass matura
- technical school – last 4 years and after this school you can also pass matura exam and moreover technician exam
- vocational school – last from 2-3 years and after this school you can’t pass matura, you obtain only occupation
If you pass matura, you can go to studies that last … years.
