“Step up” is a romantic music drama directed by Anna Fletcher. It is a story which became very popular among the teenagers and the main song of this movie was another Sean Paul’s hit.
It is set in present-day Baltimore, Maryland. Tyler Gage is a rebel from the wrong side of Baltimore and the only thing that stands between him and an unfulfilled life are his dreams of getaway out there. Nora Clark is an ambitious ballet dancer attending Baltimore’s elite Maryland School of the Arts. She knows that the only thing standing in the way of her brilliant future is finding a great dance partner for her show. When Tyler breaks a law, he has to work as a janitor at Maryland School of the Arts. A haphazard causes they meet and start to dance together. This unexpected acquaintance changes them a lot. Tyler realizes he can step up to the new better life and have a fantastic, lovely girl.
The star of the movie was of course Channing Tatum who played Tyler. He is handsome and seems to be a “bad boy” – girls love it. I am sure his poster appeared on the walls of many teenagers after watching the film. He created with Jenna Devan a stunning dance couple. It is a Michael Seresin’ merit. He tends to be one of the best choreographers nowadays.
The filming is imaginative with both comic and tragic scenes. However, the plot is predictable bit it does not bother to watch it with big pleasure. “Step up” as almost every dance film is really good and entertaining to watch.
To sum up, “Step up” is definitely worth seeing, whether you are into dance or not. If you enjoyed the movie “Dirty Dancing” this is probably a good movie for you.
