Violence in computer games has always been considered as one of the main reasons of young people’s bad behavior. With the development of computer technology and computer graphics games are becoming more realistic and suggestive than ever. However, this it’s very hard to say is their influence on the world around us as high as some people think.

From my point of view computer games aren’t responsible for teenagers’ aggression. I have been playing computer games since I was 8. I have played Wolfstein, Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Mortal Kombat 1, 2, 3 and 4, Quake 1, 2 and Quake 3: Arena and many other games considered as bloody and violent. Despite this, I don’t think I could kill or even hurt anyone.

Furthermore, games can reduce your aggression. I think it’s better to kill a few computer opponents (or even human opponents, when you’re playing multiplayer games) than go and beat up someone on the street.

On the other hand, very young and mentally weak people can be easily overcome by aggression, violence and brutality. They can start thinking it’s the normal way to act. If they can’t separate the real world from the one created by computer it’s time for someone to help them.

To conclude, violent computer games have no real effect on individuals who play them. And there is no point in considering a computer games player as a potential killer. Hitler didn’t play Doom.
