I spent my holiday on a small tropical isle with my best friend Mark. We were surfing a lot, but waves were rather small, so we were spending long hours lying on a beach, enjoying golden sand. One day, we had frightful accident...
I got up first and looked through the window in my room. It was hot, sunny Sunday morning, the waves were especially huge and I was very happy because I had been looking forward for such weather for the whole week. I woke up quickly Mark and prepared breakfast. We ran to the beach with our boards and started to prepare them for surfing. While Mark was changing his clothes, I looked around. Some meters away was a sign.
- Can you see this sign? What is written there? - I asked.
- ‘No Swimming – Sharks’ – he answered. – it is surely a joke; have you ever seen here any sharks? Let’s ignore this, the weather is rally perfect and we have been waiting for it for weeks.
- Ok, but be careful, I have a bad filling about this.
So, we started surfing. It was the one of the most beautiful moment in my life. We were swimming for at least an hour. Suddenly I heard yell. “O my God, a shark!”. It was true. About 100 meters from us appeared a shark. I felt horrible, everything was so strange. “Why I agreed to ignore a sign?” I thought, but it was already too late. “Mark! Jump onto my board and push yours towards the shark!” I yelled. Mark swam near me and got onto ma board. We were paddling towards the beach, lucky that it wasn’t a long distance.
- Look it is a piece of yours board! – I exclaimed when we reached a beach and saw a junk.
- Yes, you are right, you had a great idea to push my board towards the shark. We are safe now.
- Yes, lucky to be alive.
