The differences between gather and quality press

In general we can devide press into two kinds: gather and quality. Each has it’s own way of showing people news and events and particulary writes about different things. Gather focuses on celebrities’ lives, their succeses and defeates, love affairs, sensations. Quality shows news, political events and sport occurences.

The jurnalists who write for quality press observe “Code of Ethics”. They know they are responsible for their articles. They are acquainted with consequences their commentary might cause. Therefore things put in quality newspaper can be trusted and safe for the people who are being written about.
These reporters are usually people who are very into their jobs, it is their passion in most cases. For this reason they do not care obout the money much. They observe ethics, which means they do not take bribes nor so called gifts, they do not get involved in any organizations that might influence on their objectivity.
Fair play is very important for jurnalists working for quality press. They do not charge anybody on the ground of gossips nor unofficial informations or if they do, they give this person an opportunity to reply. Moreover, since they respect people’s privacy, they do not investigate in anybody’s private life, they only give news and reports which contain informations about important events.

On the other hand jurnalists from gather press, usually paparazzi, do not care about this “Code of Ethics”. In their pace for sensation there is no place for responsibility. They do not care that their articles might ruin somebody’s life, career. Their only aim is to show so called real life, sometimes by making it up.
Ethics is not important for them at all. If somebody would suggest to pay a paparazzi lots of money for writing particular article, he would do it despite knowing what consequences it might cause.
Paparazzi do not keep the rule of fair play. They just write what they think might interest the reader without thinking about what will later happen to the person they write about. They invade in person’s right to privacy. What is more they do not foster an open dialog with readers, vewers or listeners.

Summing up quality press is ambitious in contradistinction to gather, which is olny opened for sensation. Each of them is intended for different kinds of purchasers. In my opinion it is good that both, gather and quality press are avaliable, becouse on one hand we can get to know importnant things that has lately happened, but on the other hand we can relax reading about other people’s defeats, what makes our feeling better :)
