Nowadays on the market there are more goods than ever before. Therefore selling new products isn't easy without advertising. Like everything in the world TV commercial has its bad and good sides.
At first I would like to present the advantages. The main advantage of TV commercials is that they are the most effective source of providing viewers with information for instance about a certain product or service. We can quickly find out about a particular thing which we are interested in. We also have an opportunity to be informed about something new on the market. The next positive feature is that not every commercial concerns only buying products. Some of them are intended to persuade people to raise money for charity. After watching them we can help them sending money on their bank account.
Some of commercials are also very amusing. An example for that is a commercial od famous entertainment programme "Mumio".
As for the disadvantages, certainly the worst of all is that the TV commercials can easily manipulate a ''victim''. Thanks to commercial techniques a product seems to us very reliable so we go to the shop and buy it. After that it turns out not to be the same as we expected and so we are disappointed.
From my experience I have to say that TV commercials take much time, fifteen or sometimes even twenty minutes. The worst is that they show up when we watch for example a movie when something is about to happen. It makes us very annoyed but it is not always bad. Personally I disagree with people being entirely against the advertising in a movie. In this free time we can use a toilet or do something else what we need. Apart from that constant looking at the screen can be a danger for your eyesight :P. But on the other hand it is true that a duration of commercials ought to be reduced. I believe it will change. The next problem is that not all companies can afford commercial production because of financial situation. In my opinion it is very dishonest. The richest competitors should have specified limits.
On the whole, though, I think commercials are very useful and they help us in making the decisions.
