Eating habits in Britain, Poland and USA

Eating is inseparable element of life. But in many countries it's something more than just appeasing energetic demands. It's part of culture, developed by many hundred years old tradition. That's why we have so many different eating habits and kitchen in different countries. Influenced by climate conditions and affected by richness of natural resources, they achieve nowadays appearance.

A traditional English breakfast was a very big meal - sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms… But nowadays many people just have cereal with milk and sugar, or toast with marmalade, jam, or honey. Marmalade and jam are not the same! Marmalade is made from oranges. Jam is made from other fruit. The traditional breakfast drink is tea. Some people have coffee, often instant coffee. Many visitors to Britain find this coffee disgusting!
For many people lunch is a quick meal. In cities there are a lot of sandwich bars. Pubs often serve good, cheap food, both hot and cold. School - children can have a hot meal at school, but many just take a snack from home - a sandwich, a drink, some fruit. ‘Tea’ means two things. It is a drink and a meal! Some people have afternoon tea, with sandwiches, cakes. Cream yeas are popular.
The evening meal is the main meal of the day for many people. They usually have it quite early, between 6. 00 and 8. 00, and often the whole family eats together.
On Sundays many families have a traditional lunch. They have roast meat, either beef, lamb, chicken, or pork, with potatoes, vegetables, and gravy. Gravy is a sauce made from the meat juices.
The British like food from other countries, too, especially Italian, French, Chinese, and Indian. People often get take - away meals - you buy the food at the restaurant and then bring it home to eat. Eating in Britain is quite international.

People in USA say that we should always eat what we enjoy, not what is good for us. I think that eating what we like is not very good for our body. What about that people who eat only hamburgers and hot - dogs because they like them?
People who eat always what they enjoy aren’t healthy. Food like hamburgers or hot - dogs is very dangerous for us. We don’t know what there is in it. Americans like food from other countries especialy Italian food like pizza and spaghetti is not helthy too. people in the USA almost always eat in restaurants , or in fast food bar like McDonald's becouse all the time work, and don't have time to cook in a house, or they are lazy.

We are living in Poland, and our kitchen has something in common with other countries in Central Europe. We are used to having 3 meals a day, we eat a lot of meat, fat, potatoes (like Germans) etc.
We eat too late at the night and things not healthy like fat meat, too many potatos, last times we start eat like Americans thing like: fast food, crisps, chip, we drink Cola, and other very un healthy things.
In Poland nowadays eating became just a routine.
In all Europ people know polish ham, sousages, and other things from meat.
We have very good tradicional food like: sauerkraut stew (bigos) which is made of souerkraut (kiszona kapusta), meat, and mushrooms.

So, in my opinion people shouldn’t always eat what they enjoy. Most important from what we like is that if something is good for our body and if it is healthy.
I think nowadays people all over the world eat the same thinks, especialy fast foods, this is beacuse people wark all day everyone who has got money doesen't wont do eat at home but they go to city center to do shoping, and tehy eat in Italian, Chinese, Franch, or others restaurant's. When they eat at home, they eat frozen food, from microware.
